Hi! I am Gokulnath.
I started photography in 2006 when I was 16. My Dad’s old Yashica FX-3 SLR was my first camera. Back then, every click of the shutter was precious cuz you get only about 30 shots for a film roll. My Dad used to warn me not to waste the shots on zoo monkeys and garden flowers. He liked more of family members in the shots, but I liked otherwise.
My photography took a break when the camera malfunctioned around 2009, and digital handy point and shoot cameras were at their peak. I bought a Sony Cybershot in 2010, but was highly unsatisfied with its focus performance.
Nikon D3200 was my first DSLR. It was a new launch and my parents gifted it for Diwali in 2012. From then, I had been experimenting, learning with every click of the shutter.
My tour to Europe helped me take my interest to the next level.
I bought a Canon 700D for my honeymoon to Bali. It came with a 75mm and 250mm lens and I topped it up with a f/1.8 prime lens.
Wildlife photography is a genre that I have always loved, but got to try it only recently when I visited the forests of Karnataka in September 2022.
I enjoy clicking, posting on Instagram for public opinion and am looking forward to learn a lot through this course from the legend SSP himself.
