🔧 Steps to Set Up Back Button Focus on Sony A6100

Assign AF-ON to a Custom Button
-
Go to Menu → Camera 2 (Custom Operation 1) → Custom Key (Page 8/9)

Select [AF-On Button] or choose another button like AEL (depends on your preference)

Assign the function AF On to this button

Disable AF from Shutter Button

Go to Menu → Camera 1 → AF w/ Shutter (Page 6/14)

Set it to Off

Set Focus Mode
-
Choose AF-C (Continuous) for moving subjects

Or AF-S (Single) for still subjects
-
You can also use Manual Focus and activate AF On when needed

Start Shooting!

Now, use the assigned rear button (e.g. AEL or AF-ON) to focus

Press the shutter button to take the photo — it will not refocus again
