  • Bird Photography Oppotunity in and around Mumbai During Monsoon

Hello Everyone; I Need suggestions on bird photography locations in and around Mumbai during the monsoons. Most spots near Navi Mumbai are empty, so I would love to get some new recommendations. TIA ????????

@Ratul_D , I can suggest a few if you are looking for small birds and even small raptors.

    1. Many trails around Kharghar hills

    2. Uran Mudflat (not sure about Monsoon, though)

    3. Panje Wetland

    4. Tansa Bird Sanctuary (It is really beautiful but bit far. One day stay is recommended)

    5. Karnala (bit tricky, though in Moonsoon)

    6. Sanjay Gandhi NP (all season best)

    7. Arrey Milk Colony (you have to explore a bit, no trails)

    I hope it helps.

I was in Aarey in the month of May . Maybe good for bird watching but not for photography as tall trees and the birds sit very high .Same at SGNP.

I go to Vasai salt pans but in monsoon with all the mud it may not be possible in rains .

@STS and @archana-belekar Karnala has been very disappointing for me. I have been there twice and have hardly spotted any birds. Maybe I am going to the wrong spot in the sanctuary. Some guidance here will be really helpful. I will definitely consider Vasai Salt Pans. Also, there is this jewel of Navi Mumbai which is basically a jogging track surrounding the lake. I have actually spotted amazing birds along with flamingos.
