Birds tracking system
Posted by Pankaj Sisodia on March 24, 2023 at 10:05 amDear Sir, fellow member,
Is there any tool/online support to track the birds in any area, mainly for migratory birds? By which we can track the arrival, location and other details and plan our visit to a particular place.

There are no known tools as such. But generally if you are part of the birding community of your local city, you will keep getting the data from there.
In Bangalore we have our BngBirds groups where this information is generally shared and discussed.
Rgds,
Sudhir-
Thank you Sir, here in Jodhpur there was a FB group and I was a part of that and we use to visit places nearby. After COVID there are no activities and most of the members of the group were from different service classes, many have shifted to other places due to their job requirements.

There is an app named “Merlin Bird ID” which provides info on birds
-
You can also use ebird.org for sightings of birds around your area
-
There’s an app called ‘eBird’ by Cornell lab of Ornithology (they have a website as well), you can track bird locations within 30kms of your location. Sightings are updated by users so they may or may not be perfectly accurate.

Thank you for the information, I have installed the app today and let me give it a try.
