Canon RF 100-500mm F4.5-7.1 L is USM & RF 100-400mm f/5.6-8 is USM
looking at the prize difference of both lens and its huge! other than than the depth of field and F stop difference is the RF 100-400mm justified for wildlife photography?
mine is Canon R8 model so any other products like Sigma or Tamron can also be fitted directly to R series? both prize are very attractive too compare to Canon RF lens! any inputs pl.

DoF and F stop is not the only difference. The quality of the glass definitely matters and hence the cost difference.
Yes, third party lens like Tamron or Sigma does make RF mount lens which you can directly mount on the camera. Do not get attracted by the price, always check for quality of glass elements used and the final picture quality.

thanks! yes I understand the Canon has the quality with RF lens, I can feel the same with RF 24-70 F2.8 of mine but another big scale was bit concern so asked! thanks again!
