Hi Everyone, I am new to photography. Recently i went out for bird photography. When there is one bird in the frame i was able to focus on its eye. But when multiple birds are coming into picture. i was loosing focus. Here is one sample. Can anyone please guide ?

(Right bird’s eye is out of focus )

    Aperture priority mode

    Effective Focal length: 750mm

Looks like your subject to lense distance was the factor in this case. With close subject and long focal length ,at f5.6 the depth of field would be only sufficient for only one bird in whose eye the focus point was present. I see top birds eye is in focus and it seems on different plane than other birds. One of the video in Sudhir sir’s course demonstrates this depth of field concept with parameters like f number, subject to lense distance and subject to background distance. E.g. at 750mm focal length, with f5.6 with subject around 45 feet, depth of field is only around 4 inches!
