  • One camera body for Safari ? Recommendation

    Hi everyone,

I’ll be visiting India this December after three years — a much-awaited home trip. I’m planning to spend three nights in Dhikala and two nights in Pilibhit Tiger Reserve, for a total of about 9-10 safaris.

    Current gear:

    • Body: Nikon Z8

    • Lenses: Z 600mm PF and Z 24–120mm

Q: Would it be fine to go on safari with just one camera body, or should I consider carrying a second one? I am currently saving for lenses, so buying another body isn’t my priority right now but will I be okay with one body?

I know Dhikala offers beautiful landscapes and early-morning mist, so I think I can manage switching to the wide-angle lens for those scenes. Still, I’d love to hear opinions from photographers, especially those familiar with Corbett, on whether one body would be enough or 600mm could be an issue ?

Thanks a lot for your advise.

Hi Shoeb, I would highly recommend carrying a second body. Absolutely needed. And no need to buy it right away. At Delhi you can rent the equipment and use it. Contact GP Pro https://gppro.in/
