    1. What monitor do you use for editing photos, please? What criteria are important when choosing a monitor for photography (not video) purposes, please?
    2. And any recommendations for something under INR 35K – please?

I kind of figured after much Googling and YouTubing that the following are some of the criteria to evaluate a monitor. Listed in order of priority

    1. Colour Space / Gamut – a monitor with the widest affordable colour space is better. 100% sRGB to 100% Adobe RGB. As we go towards 100% Adobe RGB the cost seems to increase fairly dramatically.
    2. Resolution – 2K is adequate, 4K is better
    3. Size – 27 inch or 32 inch (diagonal)
    4. Calibration – hardware calibration or software calibration (hardware is preferred directly editing the monitor’s LUT tables)

The best ones are from EISO and NEC, the nice ones are from BenQ PhotoVue and ASUS Pro Art</div>

There are a few from LG and Dell that are usable for photo editing. And of course there is the BenQ PD series that is recommended for Design use – presents accurate colours, but has limited calibration capabilities.

Being a hobbyist myself – I cannot afford the BenQ or nicer ASUS ones. I am budget constrained to under Rs. 35K.

What do other photographers here use, please? And if you would recommend any specific models that would perhaps fit within my budget.

    Thanks for your time.

Based on your budget, check for models in Benq.
