Good Afternoon, I have been doing Amateur Photography for quite some time now. I started in 1988 with an analogue film Camera-‘Yashica FX-3 Super 2000’. Later, I bought my first DSLR, a Canon 550 D, in 2011 and moved to digital photgraphy and finally a Canon EOS R5 (Mirrorless) in 2019. My areas of interest are ‘Wildlife, Birds & Aviation’! I retired from the IAF in Dec 23 and now have more time to spend on my hobby. I realised during a visit to Ranthambore Reserve Forest last Feb (2023), that I am possibly not fully using the capability of my camera, as while trying to get a good shot on a Tiger I had difficulty in focusing on the Tiger, due to the ‘Big Cat lazing around’, but mainly ,the free direct line of sight, being disturbed by trees & branches and other obstructions, also other photographers wanting to get a better angle and a clean shot were moving to get their vehicle in a good position. Hence , I thought that I must get formally trained (& go back to school), know my gear better to optimally use the camera, and hence joined the course. Earlier, most of my knowledge is/was by reading various books on photography and learning the hard way with practise on ground, especially with film camera!!!😀 I have just completed the Course on Canon R5/R6 today (31 Mar 24) after begining on 03 Mar 24.

I plan to go through all the other courses on ‘ Basic & Advance Concepts of various genres of Photography’ to brush up my Knowledge and Skills especially in Basics/ Wildlife and Bird Photography. I plan to post some of my old pics initially and would be happy to get critical comments on them.

I do not do much of post processing, other than cropping a picture, so that is an area, I need to learn a lot about LRC/Photoshop etc.
