  • Suggestion on autofocus point for Nikon D5500 wildlife photography

    Dear Sudhir Sir,

I’m using a Nikon D5500 for wildlife and bird photography. The camera offers 39-point AF, 3D Tracking, and Single-point AF.

I personally prefer Single-point AF for accuracy, but I’d like your suggestion:

Which AF point/mode works best for birds (perched & in flight) on the D5500?

Is 3D Tracking reliable on this body, or should I stick to single point?

    Looking forward to your advice.

The 3D tracking of Nikon is quote good. But not sure how it is on the D5500. Best would be to experiment and see what best works. But most important – you need to understand what all AF points are available on the camera and what each does.
