  • Tripod on flight – Cabin baggage or check-in

    Hi there ,

    Normally I don’t carry tripod with me , when I travel but this time I am thinking on carrying one .

    How do you guys travel with tripod on flight ? Check-In or in cabin baggage .

    Appreciate your advise .

    Tripods including heavy duty tripods are now allowed to be carried in Cabin baggage on domestic flights.

    Tripod is allowed in both carry on and checked bags.

    You can carry it in your cabin luggage, but ensure that tripod spikes are placed in your checked luggage. You shouldn’t encounter any issues during transport.

    I usually carry it in check-in to avoid the hassle, but I don’t think it would be a problem if you carry with you in cabin.

    I always carry my tripod as check-in. If the tripod legs have spikes, then you are in trouble for carry on. I put the tripod in the cloth cover which came with it and put it in luggage.
