This picture of Verreaux's Eagle Owl was shot in the middle of the day with light from behind, but well filtered by the canopy of the tree. What a magnificent bird, quiet, and we happened to chance upon him as he was keeping watch over his nest. He had noticed what we had, a snake in the vicinity.

I made this image of the Indian Paradise Flycatcher, at Karnala Forest. The bird has just taken a dip in the pond below and was shaking the excess water off its body, tried the long exposure shot here to get the shake blurry keeping the eyes in sharp focus.
