Night heron patiently waiting for lunch. Shot at Nigeen lake in Srinagar.

I like the sharpness but color seems a bit off. Any tips on how to improve. Just started the D500 and Lightroom courses. Wish I had done done them before this trip. Place was a birding paradise.

This photograph was shot at Ponmudi, Trivandrum. It was very cloudy and windy on top of the hills. As the clouds gathered, there were occassional beams of sunshine that broke through the clouds and lit the landscape. Ponmudi is named after the gold coloured heather that grows on these hills. I was on birding tour at Mahananda wildlife sanctuary west Bengal alongwith other 6, from 8th May to 14th May 2023 under leadership of Mr. Pranav Joshi from Pune. Herons..one small ( pond heron) and the other big ( grey heron) commonly sighted waterbirds. These two were expectantly and patiently waiting for the fish there …on stand – still giving ample time to capture in the camera. Shot was taken Bhigwan lake near Pune from a sailing boat in the morning. Auto ISO 200, f 6.3, 1/400, @600 mm. Cropped image.
