This photo was taken at around 8.30 AM in Ranganathittu. The bird was going for its kill but it missed. The light was magical at that moment.

Purple Heron vs Snake

The snake fought till its last breath, it wrapped around the heron’s beak and locked it. After some 5mins of try the purple heron changed its position as a brahminy kite was following it.

I love playing with light. Bright sunlight seeping into small spaces illuminating something is my favorite. I found this partly hidden hibiscus brilliantly lit by the afternoon sun, and spot metered on the flower to get this moody image. Could not upload the full size file, but this gives an idea.

I saw this Crested Hawk Eagle was busy breaking sticks and carrying them to the nest. I got one frame with wings fully open, so decided to post process using two main tones and give it a darker background with dramatic effect.
