Hello everyone, hope your Sunday is going on good. Not too active here for past few days as I have been busy shooting the much awaited Nikon Z9 course, which is also applicable to any Nikon mirrorless cameras.

Done with the shoot and currently am editing the videos. I plan to release it tomorrow.

Backlit Images – Shooting and Processing:

Camera Settings:
– Make sure to use proper metering and exposure compensation as that’s the key here.
– In my case, I used evaluative/matrix/multi-metering with an exposure compensation of -2 stops
– White balance was around 5800K in the camera
– Shoot in aperture priority with the lowest f-number…

A pic of a juvenile Rhino from Kaziranga. I think the bird nearby may be a bar headed goose, not sure, perhaps experts here can help. Nothing special about this animal except that it was very cooperative and peacefully grazing while we shot this pic from the safari vehicle.

It was before my enrollment in Sudhir sir’s course, I mostly used to shoot using aperture priority mode, here the cormorant was flying and as I was using aperture priority mode and with low iso of 320, shutter speed was not sufficient to capture sharp inflight image, but got a good sharp image once it landed. I shot this image of an Oriental Dwarf Kingfisher in the Karnala Forest in the Raigad district of Maharashtra. This was captured from a hide. I had gone to the beach early morning to photograph birds. I came across these non breeding lesser plover foraging on the beach . I tried taking an eye level shot sitting down , hand held . I still cannot figure out how to get them .

The winking bull. Taken at Keoladeo National Park, the bull was crossing the road but stopped to attend nature’s call. I used center weighted metering with -1 exposure bias as it was during daytime.

I was using Nikon 55-300 lens at 260 mm on a D7000 camera.

This photograph is from Bhutan, we were driving and just came out of a curve to see this nice buliding actually a home with a small restaurant on the ground floor. Processed in LRC to brighten the shadows, touched up the exposure a bit and added a bit of contrast.
