If your serious about wildlife/birding photography then the preferred lens is 150-600mm either Sigma or Tamron. I’m using R10 with Sigma 150-600mm contemporary and the results are preety good.

For wildlife and birding, you need telezoom lens preferably 150-600 mm lens. If possible rent and Try the telezoom lens for wildlife and decide If you want to upgrade or not. If you e still want to plupgrade then first upgrade your crop sensor camera to R10 or R7 and based on your budget.
