I use this camera and it is decent in performance wrt wildlife photography. It has good AF performance which is essential for wildlife. Of course it lacks some features of full frame camera like better low light photography, better image quality but it gives you good reach as it has crop sensor. You can see some photos which i have clicked using this camera in my profile. If you are just starting to pick up wildlife photography, then its a good camera to start with. Later when u reach advance level OR if you have budget then u can go for full frame camera.
6100, 6400, 6600 all have same sensor with each having some advantage over previous one.
PS – If you have more budget you can go for 6400 which has weather proof body. 6100 is weather resistant but not weather proof.

Are you trying to shoot handheld or using any support like tripod, bean bag etc?
If you are shooting handheld and if subject is in motion and if its fast, then my guess is that much shutter spped will not suffice as you are also moving camera along with the subject.
If you are using any support then as sudhir sir suggested sharing image might help giving feedback.
