Hi Keyur, thanks for your comments. However, my objective was different. The darker background with some spotlight effect is more magical to me. And, again, it may not be to you. It is all about perspective. It is more like a painting effect using tempera colours like impressionist or old English paintings. I tried to produce that artistic effect.

Beauty! In my view, a bit low angle would have made it superlative. Additionally, I find the focus is sharp around the beak and head, and the body is not very sharp. So, maybe the single autofocus is not doing well here.

Hi Archana, I think it is bad luck or wrong time selection. Usually, before monsoon, they move away towards the creek. We usually get them throughout the year except for the monsoon. As Ratul said, there are multiple other spots here to watch flamingoes.

Exactly, the lens is amazing and while sharpness is in question, I found it superior to its EF counterpart EF100-400 4.5-5.6 at the same focal length.

Good question, Archana. Technically you are right. It’s always better to shoot at the lowest possible F no. I also try to do so. As I said, the owl was very, very far. I had to zoom up to 500mm to take a bare minimum close-up to get this shot. At 500 mm, the min F stop is 7.1 only for RF100-500, so I had no option but to use 7.1. Thanks for… Read more

In that case, I would suggest going on with Canon, you can use your 700D as your second body, and you can use any lens you have with R8. You need an EF-RF adapter (which is cheap and has no issue with image quality).

It depends. If you are already invested in either brand (Canon or Nikon) and have a good lens assembly, it is better to go with the same. Now on Canon R8 and Nikon Z6II.
