In your case since you were shooting at 500mm you should have been at minimum of 1/500 shutter speed.

Feedback from a person who makes the same mistake…. The shutter speed of 1/50 was too low, leading to a blurred image. The shutter speed for handheld pictures should exceed 1/250 and adjust other parameters accordingly to get a sharp image.
