Satpada is a part of Chilka lake in Odisha. Not very good for bird photography as human intrusion and over fishing has expelled the migratorybirds from their loved abode. Tried some hand held attempts from a rocking boat. Time 4pm. Hazy day.

I went there a week back. Mesmerizing. Nice click. I am quite new to bird. Just a query 1/650 isn’t slow for 200-600mm.

200-600mm sony after 300mm becomes 6.3. I think I didn’t managed the metering and white balance and got it over exposed

Thanks for commenting. Not giving excuses but it’s my 1st time with birds and 1st time with 200-600mm. On a boat which is rocking slowly but continuously and tripod balanced very awkwardly. At 600mm I was struggling to even locate anything so applied whatever memory I had from Sudhir sires classes and managed some click.

Got one sony 200-600mm and planned a bird shoot for first time in my life. Mangalajodi (part of Chilka lake, Odisha is only 67km from my home, marshy land famous for migratory birds in winter). Bribed the boat man to grab a sweet spot and somehow managed the mammoth lens on my sony 7RV on a tripod. It’s one heavenly experience for a 1st timer.…
