I have Canon 1300D. I tried setting up custom white balance as was demonstrated in one of your videos but I have started getting green colour background now. Is it because I did this in daylight and not the white light in a room?

If you used something that isn’t pure white (like paper with a slight tint), that can introduce a color cast. I’d recommend redoing the custom white balance using a proper white or gray card and under the same lighting conditions where you’ll actually shoot.

Custom White Balance is generally used for indoor for artificial lights. Not for outdoors. To understand how it works, you need to use a white piece of paper as shown in video and follow the instructions.
